Merced Irrigation District relies on and maintains 862 miles of canals, pipelines, ditches and local waterways in eastern Merced County. Serving approximately 2,200 growers, MID works hard, year-round, to maintain and repair its aging system. MID has a long-term capital improvement program, the Water Resources Management Plan, intended to modernize District water conveyance facilities, improve service to growers as they transition to low-volume pressure.
