Colin Selby joined Merced Irrigation District in September 2025 as Deputy General Manager – Energy Resources, where he oversees energy resource engineering and planning, energy contracting, and regulatory compliance.
He began his career at Turlock Irrigation District (TID), progressing through power supply leadership roles and most recently serving as Resource Planning Department Manager. In that role, he led complex contract negotiations, ensured regulatory compliance, directed energy hedging and long-term power supply planning, managed TID’s Power Supply budget, and led implementation of TID’s first energy prepay deal.
Colin holds an M.S. in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from UC Irvine and dual B.S. degrees in Biology and Chemistry from CSU Stanislaus. He has also passed the CFA Level I exam. He lives in Turlock with his wife and three children. Outside of work, he enjoys working out, making music, and spending time with his kids.
