MID is Committed to the Community
MID is Committed to the Community. At MID, we believe that serving our community means more than providing irrigation water and electric service. We believe MID has a responsibility to be a good neighbor and responsible business partner. MID is proud to support a host of local nonprofit organizations ranging from the Boys and Girls Club to numerous local FFA and 4-H programs. Among the many community events we help support are the Merced Downtown Christmas Parade and Merced County Fair. MID’s management team volunteers significant amounts of their time to serving on many of our local nonprofit and community organization boards. The reason is simple. When it comes to Merced County, It’s Our Way of Life.
In The Community
MID is committed to water and canal safety. We believe in working together with the community to educate our children about the dangers of canals and open waterways. MID has several water safety community outreach programs including:
- The promotion of Water Safety month during the month of May
- Speaking engagements to over 5,000 local kids annually at safety days and school visits
- Annual Water and Canal Safety poster contest (PDF)
