Annual budget and water rate set for 2025
March 18, 2025 – The Merced Irrigation District Board of Directors has adopted a $184.2 million budget for Fiscal Year 2026 and established a surface-water rate of $50 per acre foot for this year’s irrigation season. MID Customer Service is currently accepting water orders. Water deliveries to growers will begin in the coming days as water demand builds in each distribution area.
There are no restrictions on water supply this year with MID’s storage reservoir, Lake McClure, currently operating at its maximum operating level and significant snowpack in the Merced River watershed.
“Overall we’ve had a good winter season and are pleased to have an adequate water supply in the reservoir along with adequate snowpack as we head into the irrigation season,” said MID General Manager John Sweigard.
Deputy General Manager of Water Resources Bryan Kelly said the 2025 Grower Information Packets will be mailed out soon.
